In its efforts to fight tax evasion and secure Public Tax Revenue, Kenya Revenue Authority has launched a new online data collection system known as TIMS.
TIMS system brings a radical change to the way business documents are produced and accepted as valid tax and commercial documents: it is no longer enough to have an ESD or other fiscal device to register the sale.
Under TIMS system, the whole data set of each tax invoice or retail receipt must be packed up and uploaded to KRA’s tax servers.
